Currently Ghawazee's modest troupe of musicians is composed of Jas, Karadeniz, and Eric; tech support is provided by Mark -- in addition the dancers also play various instruments. The troupe focuses on improvisational and fusion pieces in the Middle Eastern folk style, but we also perform some traditional Middle Eastern folk songs and musical pieces. Ghawazee is currently on the lookout for local (Pittsburgh area) musicians; especially those who are familiar with melodic Middle Eastern string and wind instruments or vocals and interested in Middle Eastern folk and dance music.
